24. Getting Married or Not?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I was somehow worried about our language differences,
<\/span><\/span>Her age, her custom and culture could be a deterrence.
<\/span>I had second thoughts about seeing her again,
<\/span>But the \u201cfairy tale matchmakers\u201d called it a good match.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHey Mister! Don\u2019t you dare run away,\u201d they said,
<\/font>\u201cYou prayed to us to help you find a wife.
<\/span><\/span>If you don\u2019t\u2019 marry her in due time,
<\/span>There won\u2019t be any female ghost wanting to be your wife.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Just look at yourself in the mirror,
<\/span><\/span>You are almost forty years of age.
<\/span>Your sperms are about to die,
<\/span>And you\u2019re still hard-headed and acting silly every time.<\/span><\/p>\n

She looked honest and simple,
<\/span><\/span>Her face and her black pony tail hair were lovely.
<\/span>Many nights I could not sleep.
<\/span>Should I marry her? Was she the one to keep?.<\/span><\/p>\n

Having children to carry on my family name,
<\/span><\/span>What if she had no more eggs – my life would be up in flame.
<\/font>\u201cI will give you four kids.\u201d She said,
<\/span><\/span>I knew it was a sales pitch, but I took it like a betting game.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s all I needed to proceed,
<\/span><\/span>That next month we were engaged.
<\/span>Sister Hoa lent me six-hundred dollars
<\/span>To buy a diamond ring for our engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n

What a gutsy guy I was \u2013 no money and wanting to get married.
<\/span><\/span>Her family said they would help me,
<\/span>Would take care of all expenses,
<\/span>Both engagement and wedding, oh yes!<\/span><\/p>\n

The reason I married her
<\/span><\/span>Was that I believed she would make a good mother.
<\/span>Being a good mother and loving children,
<\/span>Those were my two qualities she seemed to have both.
