12. Meeting My Second Benefactor – The Tranquilas<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Today there was an American couple
<\/span><\/span>Who came to the Tea Room looking for me.
<\/span>After my inquiries with him,
<\/span>He was a college professor with several degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n

They lived in a small town called Latrobe,
<\/span><\/span>About an hour\u2019s drive from me.
<\/span>He visited his mother in Somerset County;
<\/span>She told him I was working at the Tea Room.<\/span><\/p>\n

His mother was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church,
<\/span><\/span>That\u2019s why she knew about me.
<\/span>Perhaps, Pastor Jim had told the congregation
<\/span>To see if anybody could help me for my education.<\/span><\/p>\n

I was all by myself \u2013 a loner in this country,
<\/span><\/span>Maybe that\u2019s why the couple wanted to help me kindly.
<\/span>His mother graciously invited me to her house,
<\/span>To meet her son and his wife so they could help me out.<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple seemed to be very kind,
<\/span><\/span>Lucky for me, they also liked the Vietnamese.
<\/span>Thu\u1eadn and An were two Vietnamese brothers,
<\/span>Whom they had taken in to stay in their house.<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple was very eager to help me
<\/span><\/span>To get into college as they had helped other Vietnamese.
<\/span>I was somewhat in disbelief,
<\/span>Never in my wildest dreams I might be in college someday.
