11. Welcome to Our Country<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One night, a customer came near me
<\/span><\/span>While I was carving the meat, I didn\u2019t hear him well.
<\/span>After he left the dinning area,
<\/span>Suddenly I said, \u201cThat\u2019s it! Welcome to our country.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I ran after him to their car,
<\/font>\u201cThank you, sir, for your welcoming.\u201d
<\/font>\u201cWelcome to our country.\u201d That\u2019s what he said.
<\/span><\/span>I shook his hand and thanked him profusely.<\/span><\/p>\n

He had served one tour in Vietnam
<\/span><\/span>He was a Marine but now a civilian.
<\/span>The first time I heard a sincere welcome,
<\/span>From the mouth of an American.<\/span><\/p>\n

How precious it was coming from a U.S. Marine.
<\/span><\/span>For a sincere welcome that touched my heart.
<\/span>War fought all over the corners of Vietnam,
<\/span>Was not as effective as words to win a man’s heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

I volunteered to serve on the church’s Sunday service.
<\/span><\/span>Monday was my day off so I often visited Pastor Jim
<\/span>To improve my conversational skill.
<\/span>He also helped me to understand more about Christianity.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica is a free country,\u201d Pastor Jim said.
<\/font>\u201cYou don\u2019t have to work there all your life.
<\/span><\/span>Busboy is just a temporary job,
<\/span>It’s for high school students who needed to work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou should think about your future,
<\/span><\/span>Find a trade and learn to support yourself.
<\/span>Car mechanic or any kind of trades.\u201d
<\/span>Knowing they’re kind, but my mind was first to survive.
<\/span>
